PBI fibre, Hainsworth design

For many years, we have proudly collaborated with PBI Performance Products, merging their innovative fibre technology with our centuries of fabric design and production expertise.

At our mill in West Yorkshire, we bring together a combination of PBI LP fibre, para-aramids, polyamide and antistatic to weave our PBI NRG LP fabric. This recipe and the positioning of the different fibres have been developed and tested by our technical experts, ensuring the PBI LP fibre performs to the height of its abilities.

Customer Testimonials

“Our new garments definitely feel lighter. The jackets are better fitted and give us greater movement and flexibility. The ECO-DRY Active lining is a fantastic innovation to the garment, helping to control sweating and take up moisture before the garment starts to feel wet. The early indications are that the new kit keeps us cooler when working for long periods of time at high intensity. During the course of a year, we will face a wide range of incidents, from road traffic collisions to wildfires during the summer months.”

Bob Over, Crew Manager, Lincolnshire Fire Rescue Service

“The process of moving to the new kit was very smooth. We were already with Bristol which made it easier, but we were keen to ensure that the garments were introduced as quickly as possible, within a three to four week period, to ensure that all our fire crews were dressed the same. The response in the three months since the new kit was introduced has been excellent.”

Julia Skinner, Contracts Manager, Lincolnshire Fire Rescue Service

“The ergonomics of the new kit are excellent allowing full movement and flexibility. It is more bespoke and fitted with garments that are fully contoured to the body. Every item of clothing has been designed to work together. The advantages of Bristol/Hainsworth were apparent straightaway.”

Owen Cameron, Firefighter, Birmingham Airport Fire and Rescue Service

“Hainsworth TITAN kit keeps me cool and prevents me from being a boil in a bag. The TITAN provides the flexibility whether I am in a fire situation which may be a short, sharp hit of 15 to 30 minutes or standing on a jet for three or four hours. Our kit provides comfort and flexibility of use.”

Carl Batchelor, Veteran Firefighter, West Midlands Fire Service
